My favourite green smoothie, packed full of leafy greens, healthy fat and protein to help you start the day on your best foot and keep you feeling full. It's also a great way to sneak in some extra veggies, like broccoli. I like to steam and freeze a few heads of broccoli, making it super easy to throw a handful into the blender when it's smoothie making time!
1 cup steamed & frozen broccoli
1 cup spinach
1 inch piece fresh ginger
¼ cup plain greek yogurt*
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 cup water
1. Ahead of time, cut the broccoli into florets, lightly steam it and then place it in a single layer on a baking sheet and into the freezer. Once it's frozen, you can throw it all into a container in the freezer and it won't all stick together.
2. Place all ingredients into a blender. Grate the ginger and squeeze in the lime juice. Give it a good blend.
3. Serve garnished with kiwi slices and sprinkled with hemp seeds. Enjoy!
*Tip: To make it vegan or detox friendly replace greek yogurt with coconut yogurt or pea protein powder.
